Using the new NEC4 Facilities Management Contract internationally and across borders
Using the new NEC4 Facilities Management Contract internationally and across borders
Time: 2PM BST
Length: 1 hour
NEC contracts are written to be used internationally, not just within the United Kingdom. This applies as much to the recently published NEC4 Facilities Management Contract (FMC) as to any other NEC contract. But how might the contractual arrangements be set out in the contract, and is there any benefit in using a standard contract at all for the complex arrangements that may be needed in an international or cross border service?
The NEC has been working alongside the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) to produce a series of Practice Notes relating to the FMC, to give more detailed guidance on issues of concern to the facilities management sector. The latest guidance note, written by Andy Candelent of Leadec, considers this issue of using the FMC in a national, international or cross-border context.
Join Andy and Ross Hayes as we discuss the new Practice Note, discussing the various approaches to contractual relationships that can be adopted, how the contract accommodates its use in other countries, some of the major issues that need to be considered, and what are the benefits of a standard contract even if there are changes to be made to work in complex arrangements.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions of Andy and Ross at the end of the webinar.
