John has extensive experience in the construction industry and in different sectors including petro-chemical and nuclear. Prior to joining CCS, he was Head of Procurement at Cavendish (Babcock) Nuclear and was charged with transforming the procurement function. During his time there, he worked on major projects for clients such as EDF Energy on their existing stations, and Hinkley Point C, Sellafield & Magnox with their decommissioning programmes. Before joining Cavendish, he was at United Utilities leading a team procuring their capital programme.

He is currently responsible for the strategic delivery of multi-billion-pound commercial agreements in CCS, supporting Government departments in delivering their construction programmes. Aiming to achieve a fair balance between clients, contractors and subcontractors, he is at the forefront of promoting a collaborative working approach within the industry.

Melissa Dudley is a Deputy Director in the Cabinet Office’s Government Commercial Organisation and the Commercial Director for the Construction Portfolio. As part of that, she is responsible for advising Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service on the £9bn+ transformation programme to deliver 20,000 modern prison places.

Melissa has significant experience of complex and high value project delivery, most recently within the MoJ delivering HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough, HMP Fosse Way in Leicester and HMP Millsike near York. Prior to this, her previous experience includes FM and Estates, professional services and legal policy in a variety of roles.

She is an active advocate for construction and moving the sector forward, sitting on multiple cross-government and industry forums, working with industry to manage emerging risks and develop best practice approaches.

Caron is a Fellow of the CIOB and Chartered Environmentalist. She has worked on major environmental projects in the UK, and was part of the original development team for the New National Forest. She spent 17 years as Sustainable Construction Lead at the Eden Project acting as an influencer promoting best practice on site and for the sector locally and nationally.

At the Ministry of Justice, Caron is responsible for setting benchmarks and sustainability standards across the MoJ’s prison expansion programme. Advising on strategy and policy development, working with the supply chain to embed sustainability throughout the project lifecycle and incorporating lessons learnt to drive continual improvements across the expansion portfolio.
